Welcome to the Auberge du Cheval Blanc.
The Auberge du Cheval Blanc is renowned for its subtle blend of friendliness and refinement, along with a fabulous journey back into history as we step over its threshold.
Between Tradition and Modernity
In Reception, Madame Koehler, who has inherited a family tradition more than a century old, warmly welcomes both regular guests, some of whom have been coming to the restaurant for over 50 years, and passing gourmets who come here to discover the inn’s refined traditional cuisine.
Once everyone has been introduced, you will be invited to enjoy the contemporary architecture of the quiet veranda overlooking the Chef’s kitchens, sipping a glass of wine, or to go straight to the dining room to soak in the Koehler family’s history and enjoy a pleasant time of gastronomy in a good-humoured, pleasant atmosphere.
A Typical Setting that speaks Volumes about Alsace and it Customs
In order to keep this family spirit, so dear to them, alive, Madame Koehler and her husband, Gilbert, member of the Association des Etoiles d’Alsace, receive their guests in the same place where customers of the staging post formerly owned by the family and the very first lovers of the tasty local cuisine served by Gilbert’s grandmother, Melanie Koehler, were received during the last century.
This history-soaked decor, with the wooden beams that strut across the ceiling, the Alsatian objects decorating the walls and the superb ancient stove, provides a suitably harmonious setting for the fabulous dishes that you will discover on your plates.
